oil on canvas, 65x186cm, sold.
The theme of the painting is human’s destruction of nature. The painting is divided into three portions to show the progress of ecological imbalance where humans interfere with nature to further their own ends.
And the time of destruction has arrived sooner rather than later for the blue planet, all I have left is hope. Nature will survive somehow, but will we?
Nothing is as certain as change. Everything flows like a river. The earth is not a still thing, it will always change whether humans are there or not. There will be future generations but how will they be? Nature will decide. Everything follows the nature of matter, humans, earth, everything, Durga-Kali.
My mother, who is a tapestry weaver, really liked this painting. She made a beautiful tapestry based on it that is just the same size as the original. It is included here.
