These figures are painted mostly with glass paint and some have collage as well.
For example one figure deals with Car racing, roads are painted on the torso and real dinky cars race on these roads for prizes, symbolising that women are also considered trophies by the wealthy.
Another figure deals with farm animals, I personally have named this torso, “pig on pubis”, it deals again with the fact that in many places in the world women are treated no better than farm animals by their husband, family, and community!
There are drawings all over this torso of farm life, and small farm animal toys are placed strategically on the drawings to emphasise this.
The big red pig portrays the importance of fertility, the pig is actually a man.The some of the other figures deal with: the cycle of the moon 🌓, art and colour, fishing, different sunshades, the importance of buttons, and playful sexiness.
My mother, who is a tapestry weaver, really liked this painting. She made a beautiful tapestry based on it that is just the same size as the original. It is included here.
